Valdosta State University (VSU) offers the best of both worlds — the extensive academic, cultural and social opportunities of a major university, and the small classes and close personal attention found at smaller institutions. With over 11,000 students and more than 100 degree programs, VSU offers majors ranging from business to Biology, pre-med to education, computer science to the arts, pre-engineering to political science.
At VSU, undergraduate and graduate students are engaged in scholarly activities with faculty members, which gives students the chance to conduct research directly related to their major.
VSU is a public, comprehensive university that provides exceptional opportunities for learning on campus as well as around the world. Study abroad and exchange programs at international institutions creates limitless possibilities for study. Closer to campus, VSU offers internships and experiential learning that further expand students' horizons.
Outside of class, campus organizations encourage leadership, social interaction, recreation, cultural development and community service. The College of the Arts offers a wide variety of performances and exhibits throughout the year, while our championship athletics and exciting social scene gives students the true college experience.
VSU is right on the Florida border, in sunny south Georgia, making its location perfect for a quick drive to the Florida or Georgia beaches or an easy drive to Atlanta or Orlando, Florida. VSU's campus is beautiful, its Spanish Mission architecture is classic, and its location in the heart of metropolitan Valdosta is perfect. VSU challenges students with the opportunities and experiences necessary for personal success, while always providing the friendliness and family feel expected in the American south.

Valdosta State University is proud that several hundreds of international students from over 60 different countries are part of its student body. The Center for International Programs works with international students throughout their academic careers, from admission to graduation by providing comprehensive support services in the following areas: admission to the university, immigration information, advising on F-1 and J-1 visa regulations, orientation to U.S. culture and to VSU, registration for classes, on and off campus employment, as well as social and cultural adjustment.
